How it works
How MeridOS works — from waitlist to worldwide coverage
Five clear steps from early access to seamless renewal. No local SIM swaps, no roaming surprises, no manual tax calculations.
Step 1: Join the waitlist — get early access
MeridOS is currently in private beta, which means early access matters. When you join the waitlist, you are reserving your spot in a curated launch cohort. Beta members receive access to the full pack catalogue across all 10 launch markets before public rollout. You will receive a personal onboarding link as soon as your slot opens. Being on the waitlist also means you get first notice of new destination launches, route packs, and the Meridian Log 183-day tax tracker before it goes public. No credit card required to join — just your email address. We review every intake to keep the beta cohort focused on active international travelers and location-independent founders who will give meaningful feedback.
Step 2: Choose your eSIM plan — select your countries
Once you have early access, browse the full catalogue of destination packs and multi-country route packs. Each market offers three tiers: a short-stay Starter pack (1 GB, 7 days) for arrivals and transit, a Core pack (10 GB, 30 days) for a normal month of work and maps, and a Power pack (20–50 GB, 30 days) for heavier hotspot and tethering use. For nomads rotating between two hubs, our route packs bundle two Core plans — for example, the Thailand ⇄ Dubai route for founder sprints, or the Portugal ⇄ Mexico route for Atlantic-split work cycles. All plans are priced in USD, require no long-term contract, and cover 10 of the most active nomad markets in the world.
Step 3: Install your eSIM — scan the QR code, active immediately
After checkout is confirmed, you receive an eSIM installation QR code in your order summary. Open your phone's cellular settings, select "Add eSIM" or "Add a Data Plan," and scan the code. The eSIM profile installs in seconds. On iPhone, go to Settings → Cellular → Add Cellular Plan. On Android, go to Settings → Network → SIM → Download a SIM. Your new eSIM activates automatically the first time your phone connects to a supported network at your destination — no manual toggle or support call required. You keep your home SIM alongside the travel eSIM and switch between them as needed. Most modern dual-SIM devices support one physical SIM and one eSIM active at the same time.
Step 4: Meridian Log tracks automatically — 183-day warning included
The moment your eSIM goes live in a new country, the Meridian Log begins tracking your cumulative time on the ground. For location-independent founders and digital nomads, the 183-day rule is the most common tax residency threshold across multiple jurisdictions — spend more than 183 days in a country within a calendar year and you may trigger local tax obligations. MeridOS monitors your days per country passively based on eSIM activity and sends you a warning as you approach the threshold in any market. You can review your log at any time, export a summary for your accountant, and plan your next move before the clock becomes a problem. This is a planning tool, not legal or tax advice — always confirm with a qualified advisor.
Step 5: Renew or expand coverage — seamlessly continue
When your current pack runs low or expires, MeridOS makes continuation simple. If your plan is top-up eligible, return to your order history and extend your current eSIM profile without reinstalling a new QR code — your data refreshes on the same active line. If your plan uses rebuy as the continuation path, you receive a fresh pack with a new installation code. For nomads expanding to new markets, browse the catalogue for your next destination and check out from the same account. Your Meridian Log carries forward across all eSIM purchases, giving you a running total of days per country across your full travel history. Beta users who expand to new markets also help shape which destinations MeridOS prioritizes next.
